If anybody actually gets to read this, i want to say thank you for being on my blog. I apologize for all the people that actually depended on this blog for their music or actually depended on this blog for sneaker news. I took a break because i got overwhelmed and bored of doing the same thing everyday. Now Fantasy Fiction is going to be Crafty C/Sira Semambya's website. Also will be posting up LDB songs. All my music will come on this site first and SuccessFul Failure the mixtape will be on this website first. Also Fantasy Fiction, the clothing company will be on this website. The Samples will be done in two weeks so i will post them up on this blog. Lastly I have a radio show Tuesday 2-3PM on 90.3 The Pulse in the Tri-State area. We already interviewed Big Sean, Dom Kennedy, and Producer Boola. An interview with Big K.R.I.T. is on its way very soon. I will post up all the interviews up for you guys to listen.

Fans of 90s runners were lucky enough to get a retro of the Nike Air Structure Triax ‘91 a few years back, and these new colorways are only feeding their gluttonous appetites. Check out these two new colorways of the Triax ‘91 – one in white, lucky green, and photo blue and the second featuring a darker mix of black, grey, purple, and an infrared-like tone. Both colorways should hit Nike Sportswear retailers soon but have arrived now at Schuh-You.

Nike SB Dunk Low Premium – Yellow Curb | New Images

In mid-April, Sneaker News brought you a first look at an upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low that featured a number of design cues that had our readers smiling ear-to-ear. The toe and rear panel of the Yellow Curb SB Dunk features Elephant Print in different textured – a patent leather-like construction on the rear and embossed print on the toe. The remaining portions of the shoe featured a mix of materials in black; the toe appears to be a denim-look-a-like fabric while the center panel and swoosh give off a concrete blacktop look. The fat tongue recently made a comeback and looks like the Yellow Curbs will be part of the return as well – although the tongue looks a bit slimmer than normal. Featuring a vivid blue suede overlay, these joints are completely based in the iconic Safari print that takes its name from a 1987 cult classic runner. The Air Max 1 overshadowed the original Safari runner and has come to be nicknamed the ’87s’, but this irregular speckled pattern has risen to immortal status right alongside Jordan Brand’s legendary Elephant print. Air Jordan XI (11) Retro – ‘Cool Grey’ – Confirmed for December 2010

It has been confirmed that the Air Jordan XI (11) in the Medium Grey/White-Cool Grey – commonly referred to as the Cool Grey XI – will be releasing on December 23rd of this year with a $175 price-tag. This release comes almost exactly one year after the release of the Air Jordan XI (11) Space Jam, a shoe that caused nationwide hype and mayhem. Will the Cool Grey XI cause similar delight (or destruction)? The Cool Greys haven’t released in over nine years – March of ‘01 being the original release – and even then, the hype surrounding the shoe was quite large, as TLC covered the Cool Grey XI release at a Niketown location as part of the network’s program titled “Buy-ology”. In the sneakerhead calendar, 2010 will go down as one of the biggest years – in terms of releases. Jordans galore, uber-limited collaborations, two great signature shoes, and a smorgasbord of Foamposite releases should leave your belt a few notches wider and your wallet inversely thinner. Unfortunately, there isn’t much time to let up, because in addition to the Jordan Brand Spring 2011 releases, Foamposites will also experience a colossal release during the same season, causing some to spend a mortgage payment’s worth on shoes.

Earlier this month Sneaker News confirmed the release of the Metallic Pewter Nike Air Foamposite One; releasing alongside is the Dark Neon Royal colorway (pushed back from the original September 2010 scheduled drop) of the Nike Air Foamposite One – the colorway that had Penny Hardaway go gaga and revolutionized the way basketball shoes were designed. The One’s fraternal twin – the Pro – will also see a release in Electric Green/Black-White; could that mean a Kryptonate-like upper? Could Premium Pete’s Foamposite vision be realized, or is expecting a throwback to the Voltage Foamposite Pro be a better guess? Lucky number seven? The Air Jordan VII (7) – like any other Air Jordan model in the entire Legacy – holds its own importance to Jordan history; it was the first Air Jordan shoe to not feature any Nike branding of any kind, and also put a stop to the four-peat of visible Air from the Air Jordan III-VI. The AJ7 was also part of a defining moment in Jordan’s career, as MJ and a special colorway of the Air Jordan VII led the USA Dream Team to worldwide dominance. On a Retro standpoint, the Air Jordan VII hasn’t been long forgotten. In 2006, six colorways were released and a couple of years later, the Air Jordan VII 60+ Package was dropped in addition to the Air Jordan VII Hare from the Collezione Package of 2008.

This new colorway of White, Orion Blue, Black, and Infrared is set for a release in March, 2011. Some have compared the colorway to the Pacific Blue release of 2006, but Orion Blue and Infrared is a definite first for any Air Jordan model, and the white/black base offers ideal contrast for the two vibrant colors. The color combination could almost pass as a Kevin Durant PE. This colorway of the Air Jordan VII is slated for a March 2011 release so stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you updated with detailed images and info. via NT.

If you think you’ve had your fill of the Air Jordan IX (9), think again; not long ago the White/University Blue pair dropped (an applaudable attempt at the Powder Blue retro) and the OG White/Black-True Red hasn’t released yet, but here’s another look at the Dark Charcoal Air Jordan IX that is set to drop later this year. Unlike the “Powder Blue” retro, these stay true to the original colorway, from the dark charcoal mudguard, black upper and midsole, and True Red trim. There’s been a ton of Air Jordan IX Retros already, and we’re still awaiting the Black/Citrus pair as well as the limited For The Love Of The Game Air Jordan IX. Drake’s Thank Me Later: The Numbers Are In

So Drake didn’t sell a billion copies of Thank Me Later huh. I can’t say I’m all that surprised. I figured he’d probably do a respectable 500-600K, but I was also prepared for him to do something completely ridiculous like 2 million. Over saturation can either work for you or against you and this seems to be a case of the latter. Not that I blame his handlers/Universal for flooding the market. That’s what your supposed to do with an artist that’s buzzing right? I suppose. I think there’s a balance that needs to be struck though. You don’t want people to walk into the record store and say “who the fuck is this guy”, but you also don’t want them thinking, “not this fucking guy again”.

Hype is a helluva drug. It clouds the judgement of rappers, fans and critics alike. It can also hurt just as much as it can help, if not more. If Drake wasn’t so over hyped, this 462K he did would seem like an epic debut. But with expectations what they were, anything short of a million first week will be viewed by many as a failure. Which is completely absurd. To put things in perspective, Jay-Z, arguably the most famous rapper living, did 475K his first week out with Blueprint 3. And you’re out of your mind if you think this Drake album isn’t eventually going platinum.

I like Thank Me later. It’s cool. It could’ve been way better though. I liked it more after one listen than I did So Far Gone after one listen. One of my NMC brethren who shall remain nameless, says he can’t get through TML without falling asleep. Ha ha. That’s how I felt about SFG, but (most of it) grew on me. It was mostly all the singing that turned me off. TML is really just a more polished version of SFG, but for whatever reason the singing doesn’t bug me as much this time around. Maybe it was all of that polish.

So what does all of this mean for the music industry? Probably nothing except that it’s just as hard to sell records as it was last year and the year before, and that the Carter 3 numbers were an anomaly. I’m sure there are some valuable lessons to be learned here, I’m just not quite sure what they are yet. Drake was supposed to be the guy who would usher in a new era of rap artists. He’s really one of the first artists to enjoy a rabid stan-base both on and offline. He’s got bars and he appeals to the ladies and the TRL crowd. He’s relatively “safe”. He’s supposed to be putting up NSYNC numbers right? He was supposed to be the rap industry savior that would introduce a new model and rewrite the rules of success. but that’s the thing about selling records for a living though, it’s a fucking crap shoot if there ever was one.

I’ll stick to blogging (for now).

You know what’s crazy though? I bet you some dude with half of the backing and co-signs of Drake will come out in the next couple of years and crush everybody. He’s probably out there somewhere right now quietly putting out mixtapes or leaking songs on the Internet. Isn’t that how it always works? It’s always the sleepers who come back and blow up. Who could’ve ever guessed that the skinny dude warming up crowds for Kane would turn into the Jay-Z we know today. Who ever thought Curtis would overcome all of the obstacles life threw at him to accomplish what he has? I guess that’s what keeps all of you aspiring rappers going.

Person who raps about real life shit that matters and has experienced, rarely about pimping hoes/having millions/selling immense ammounts of drugs/murdering random people for no apparent reason or motive.Person who is true to himself while rapping and uses his head and heart to write not only a pen and meaningless words. Bsically, a backpacker is a cat that spends most of his/her time traveling through public transit. theyre a huge fan of music but mostly on a lyrically tip because they have a greater grasp and focus on lyrics that kills time while their traveling on the bus, subway, etc. they dont have the money to be rolling in luxury cars, etc. so when you come across a backpacker, theyre usually more of a lyrical cat because all they have is a walkman and a grip of cd’s in their backpacks. with a walkman, youre usually more focused on words rathers than beats and hooks. thats why most backpackers are considered more into the underground hiphop scene where artist’s are more about lyrics. you usually find backpackers in inner cities because public transit is cheap, and to get from point a to point b isnt that far of a route.

Here’s another look at an upcoming Nike SB Quickstrike that’s inspired by one of the brands that paved the way for skate shoes. The Nike SB Dunk High ‘Chromeball Incident’ gets its name from Neil Blender’s early ’80s cartoon and the modern old school skate blog that both share that moniker. Blender himself signed off on these, OKing the OG look borrowed from the Airwalk Enigma. Much like ‘The Shot’ that flummoxed the Showtime Lakers during Michael Jordan’s first NBA Finals win, the Air Jordan VI Infrared Pack has become the stuff of legends. Skeptical sneakerheads thought the Infrareds were either a case of questionable lighting and/or customization, and with Varsity Red versions of both shoes releasing earlier this year, some simply couldn’t fathom this similar release. But when you consider that the black pair hasn’t retroed in a decade and the white joints have NEVER seen a retro release, it’s clear this package was long overdue.

The AJVI Infrared Pack is a double-box with both shoes arriving inside antistatic bags that you’re familiar with if you’ve ever built or upgraded a computer. These bags should prevent the inevitable oxidation that degrades vintage kicks, which means this pack might be indistinguishable from a retro another 20 years hence. Check out images of the unique packaging and some comparison shots between Varsity Red and Infrared after the jump, and get ready when they release as a Quickstrike on Saturday, June 19th. Custom sneakers are often the result of an artist wanting to see a novel inspiration behind a new colorway, but in the case of the Iron Man film series, one is simply not enough. Hot on the heels of Diversitile’s latest efforts, here’s the ‘other’ Iron Man shoe, a Nike SB Dunk High Premium. The Nike SB Ironmans don’t prominently feature an Arc Reactor like Diversitile’s, but rather adapt Tony Stark’s suit to compliment the classic Dunk silhouette in premium suede. DMV sneakerheads will probably see these around FedEx Field when they release later this year, but you can cop the sample pictured above in US men’s size 9 from cigar0330 on eBay.

This is a big year for the Jordan IX. The installment for the Jordan Silver Anniversary dropped back in March, while the highly anticipated Powder University Blues just hit stores this past Memorial Weekend. Also to come in the future are the Bin 23’s, Black/Citrus, and also the Charcoals later in the year. In the midst of all these releases, JB will also be retroing the White/Black-Varsity Red; a big surprise as it was just seen as part of the Collezione 14/9 during the Countdown Packs in 2008. Nonetheless, its a classic that we’re sure quite a number of fans didn’t buy during the CDP’s because of distaste for having to buy the XIV with it. On the other hand, it’s also very likely of the number of readers that are upset to find out about this release because they did in fact buy the CDP just to obtain the White/Black/Red 9’s. As we look forward to see how well it will do for its scheduled August release, you can cop yours early thanks to RMKstore on eBay.

Some rumors surfaced this weekend that claimed that Jay had signed his old friend Lil Kim to his new music venture. Other than this post on Perez Hilton, which links to HipHopBeef saying someone “confirmed the rumor,” and an Atlanta radio station claiming that sources from Roc Nation say it’s true… there isn’t much out there to separate this from every other Jay signing rumor we’ve heard.

Previewed earlier today, here are some detailed pictures of the “Un-Powder” Air Jordan IX (9) Retro’s that are tentatively set for a release later this year. Rumored to be limited to 4,000 pairs worldwide this Air Jordan IX features a similar colorway as the Air Jordan IX “Powder Blue” Retro’s however this colorway features White patent leather wrapped around the shoe and a University Blue (Carolina Blue) suede upper. On the heel of the shoe is a heart-shaped basketball logo which we are trying to find more information on.
